The well know Catholic philosopher Josef Seifert explains to NuovaBQ.it «the utilitarianism that has produced the new definition of "brain death" to allow organ harvesting», the speech of John Paul II and the exchange of ideas with Benedict XVI. Clarifying: «The person (soul) has a substantial being that can not be reduced to the use of consciousness. Above all, the thesis that the brain is the center of all integral life-activities has been scientifically confuted».
